Documentary film “Chechemeni's adventure” features a 3,000 km canoe expedition from Satawal Island, Yap State, Federated States of Micronesia, to Okinawa, Japan, done in 1975 by a Carolinian traditional canoe named Chechemeni and 6 courageous sailors including famous navigator, Luis Reppwanglug. Traditional Seafaring Society (TSS) of Guam University helped us to make English subtitles.
Chechemeni is now exhibited permanently in the National Museum of Ethnology, Osaka, Japan.
